Don't Wait for the First Cold Night to Test Your Furnace

Every year, somebody's furnace decides to act up on the first genuinely cold night of the season — right when every HVAC company in the area is getting the same call from everyone else. October is when to actually test things, not December.
Worth checking this month:
- Replace or clean furnace filters
- Run the system before you need it and listen for anything unusual
- Make sure vents and registers around the house aren't blocked
- If you've got a fireplace or wood stove, get the chimney looked at
- Check your water heater, especially if it's getting up in years
Furnace service and HVAC repair are outside our lane — we'd point you to a good local company for that. But if you're planning an addition or remodel that changes your home's heating needs — a new wing, a bigger kitchen with more square footage to heat — that's exactly where we come in, making sure the new space is set up right from the start.
If a home addition means rethinking your heating setup, that's a conversation worth having with us before construction starts, not after.
